As a graduate of the Prague Conservatory of Music, Miroslav has a solid grounding to be an
educator. He started teaching at New England Conservatory of Boston, in 1982. In 1984
he became the Chairman of the Jazz Department at NEC for three years. He was responsible for
structuring the department and its facilities. Due to personal commitments, he stepped down as
Chairman but continued teaching part time for an additional two years as he prepared his next move.
In 1988 Miroslav relocated to Europe. Since then he has presented numerous
clinics for special events especially when associated with his concert performances. He feels
that his knowledge should be passed on to future musicians. "After all," he says, "creative
music is one of the best things on the planet."
His recent clinics have been near Biarritz, France, Santa Tereza, Sardinia, Italy and
Vienna at the prestigious Thomastik Acoustic Bass Convention.
